I’m Toni Costilla. I work with AI since 2022: testing the tools, teaching people how to use them, and watching where they break. That last part is the most educational.
I started @ailikegpt because the conversation about AI tends to happen at two volumes.
One is breathless: everything changes tomorrow.
The other is a shrug: it’s a fad. Neither helps much if you’re trying to decide whether to use something at work this week, or whether your parents should be worried about that voice message.
So this site sits in the middle, and it’s written from where I stand: a practitioner who uses these tools daily, likes most of them, trusts few of them completely, and prefers a plain sentence to an impressive one.
What you’ll find here.
Short pieces, most days. Things I noticed, small experiments, questions I get asked by friends, and what I’d tell you over coffee if you asked whether something was worth your time. I’ll tell you when I changed my mind.
What you won’t find.
Breaking-news roundups, predictions delivered with great confidence, or tutorials that assume you already know what a parameter is. There are plenty of good places for those.
If something here is useful, the weekly digest is the easiest way to keep up. If something is wrong, write to hello@ailikegpt.com. I read everything.Write a short, honest introduction here: who you are, what you write about, and who it is for.
